It was an awesome day for January, so this afternoon I took my camera, and we rode down to the lake to see how things are looking there. It really makes me sad to see how the lake has changed. 2 years ago this spring a devastating tornado went through and bascially destroyed the beautiful Canadian area campground. They have cleaned up alot of the devastation and are in the process for putting in new campsites, but all the beautiful shade trees are gone. Then last spring Oklahoma City lakes were down, so they drained our lake until it is nearly unrecognizable. Tragic situation for all the fish and wildlike around the lake. Also as we were driving down Thunder Road we noticed that there has been a fire recently along Thunder Road, so more trees destroyed. Really hope we have some good spring rains to help bring the beauty and our lake back to us!

Great pics! The boys and I went to the lake yesterday afternoon and played on the beach. We couldn't believe how far it had went down again since we had been there last. :(
ReplyDeleteWhen we left the boys wanted to go down Thunder Road to see if we could see any wildlife. We came upon the fire. It had just started. There were 2 men there stomping it out as fast as they could and they told us they had called the fire department. Our conversation on the way home was an array of possibilities of what may have caused the fire. :)
We sure have enjoyed the last couple of days. It sure helps this Mommy stay sane when I can get these active little boys outdoors and enjoy some sunshine with them. :) Have a good night! Love you.
Thanks! Was sorry that there wasn't some beautiful scenery to take pics of. Wished later that I had gotten pics of the new camping shelters in the Canadian area. It has been just gorgeous the last couple days! I didn't get out much yesterday. Did Saturday stuff, laundry, vac, etc. Then in the afternoon Bob gave me a neat white file cabinet that he had out in the shed ,and I was able to organize my computer area. So much handier now to pay my bills online and have the file right close to post the receipts and paids. Glad you and the boys got to get out. We will have to do a photo session on the next nice days! Hey, you have a good night also, love you!!
