HOT, HOT, HOT!!!!

I love, love nature, flowers, birds, you name it, and one of my favorite things is to have my camera close and catch nature pics.  This heat is just wringing my heart for the little creatures that have to suffer through it!  Well, I do feel for the 2 legged creatures who have to work in it also, but most can at least find an air conditioner somewhere or get a good cold drink.  Have been watching these birds struggle the last few days with the heat and am glad that I can at least provide a drink and a cooling bath for them!

Ordinarily purple martins do not land anywhere, but on their houses, tv antennas , or roof tops, but these are so young they don't know any better and are taking to the water in this heat, and the mama's have been flying down to them feeding them.  Smart little birds!!!

Sad To See It Go!!

So sad, my big bright sunflower is drooping and on it's last days, but have enjoyed watching it develop and bloom.  Planning on saving the seed & planting a row against the house wall next year!

But did find these pretty pink poppies blooming among the zinnias this morning!  They are short-lived, so got a pic of them to enjoy for awhile.

Flowers, Stormy Sky, & Father's Day Fun!

It has been a whirlwind last few days, catching up on yardwork, cleaning & cooking getting ready for a fun Father's Day with family. Took some time out to get a few flower pics and sat out on the patio the evening the gust front blew in and watched the dirt blow.  We had a great time with Bob's family that could come, and the Wimer kids.   Love summer because it means more fun times with family!  4th of July is just around the corner, and that will mean another opportunity to gather with family and enjoy time together.  God continues to bless us daily with beautiful weather, rain, just when we need it, and awesome family and friends to enjoy!  Thank you, Lord!!
